What is a .MPLS file?

An MPLS file is a Blu-ray playlist from a disc's BDMV/PLAYLIST folder. It lists which .m2ts video clips make up a title and where the chapters are, but contains no video itself. To play it, open the whole BDMV folder in VLC or CyberLink PowerDVD. To rip the movie to MKV or MP4, use MakeMKV or HandBrake pointed at the BDMV folder.

Can I keep all audio tracks and subtitles?
The MKV (no re-encode) option copies every track as-is. MP4 and WEBM keep the first video and audio track, which is what most players use.
Why can't some files be converted?
Files protected with DRM (for example purchased iTunes .m4p songs or some .wmv rentals) are encrypted. We can show what's inside, but nobody can convert them without the key.
