What is a .IQY file?
The most common data format on the web.
An IQY file is a small plain-text Microsoft Excel Web Query that tells Excel to download a table from a web address into a spreadsheet. Double-clicking it runs the query in Excel. Warning: IQY files are a known malware delivery method. Never open one that arrived unexpectedly by email. Inspect it in Notepad first; the target URL is visible in plain text.
