What is a .EPUB file?
The open standard for reflowable e-books.
An EPUB file is an open-standard e-book (Electronic Publication) that stores text, images, and metadata in a ZIP archive. On Windows and Linux, open it with Calibre or Thorium Reader; on Mac with Apple Books or Calibre; on iPhone with Apple Books; on Android with Google Play Books. To read it on a Kindle, use Send to Kindle; Amazon has accepted EPUB directly since late 2022, so manual conversion to MOBI is no longer needed.

Can I read Kindle books bought from Amazon?
Only if they're DRM-free. Most purchased Kindle books are copy-protected, and we don't remove DRM. The reader tells you when a file is protected.
Why does my .EPUB file look different from the publisher's layout?
For comfortable reading we apply our own typography and drop the file's scripts and most of its styling. Text, headings, images, tables and links are kept.
Can I read comics and manga?
Yes. CBZ and CBT open directly, CBR and CB7 through our archive engine. Switch between single and double pages, fit to width or height, and turn on right-to-left reading for manga.
What about PDF books?
