What is a .DWL2 file?
The most common data format on the web.
A DWL2 file is a temporary XML lock file that AutoCAD creates alongside a DWG drawing when it is opened. It records who is editing the file, on which computer, and since when. You do not open or convert DWL2 files. If a stale DWL2 is blocking access to a DWG after a crash, delete both the .dwl and .dwl2 files once you have confirmed no one is editing the drawing.
