What is a .DSN file?
The most common data format on the web.
A DSN file is a small plain-text ODBC "File Data Source Name" that tells Windows how to connect to a database: which driver, server, and database to use. It holds no actual data, just connection settings. Open it in Notepad to read it, or manage it through the Windows ODBC Data Source Administrator. Watch out: it may store a username or password in clear text.
