What is a .DEP file?
The most common data format on the web.
A .dep file is a Visual Basic 5/6 dependency file, a plain-text INI-format list that tells the VB Setup Wizard or Package and Deployment Wizard which DLLs and OCX files an ActiveX component needs at install time. Open it with any text editor such as Notepad. The tool that generates and reads these files (VB6 PDW) is discontinued; modern development does not use .dep files.
